This style of balloon clock was very popular circa 1800. The solid mahogany case is covered with curl veneer and fan marquetry inlay with satinwood banding to the edge. The quality 8 day bell strike movement indicates the time on the hour and each half hour. The convex glazed door is opened to allow winding of the movement and strike with the winding key. 46-03-013
